Air Humidifiers - A Lasting Investment

Posted on December 1 2013 by Tom Snyder

Winter is filled with many things, including snowball fights, frost, warm clothing, a rise in heating costs, and illness. Yes, that’s right, while you may want a new camera or tablet for Christmas this year, you may end up unwrapping some type of illness as well. The flu, the cold, sore throats, or even a fever could wind up in your body if you’re not careful.

Now, I’m not saying these things to down your mood, but rather, I’d like to introduce a different sort of way of keeping healthy you may not have considered yet: an air humidifier. I know, you must be thinking, “What good will that do?” Well, let me tell you:

An air humidifier is most often seen being used AFTER one is sick to help decongest the nose, para-nasal sinuses, relieve hoarse and hurting throats, and soothe coughs. However, if used on a daily basis, an air humidifier has the potential of keeping you from getting sick in the first place. Granted, while a lot of sicknesses pass into the human body via contact with an orifice (such as your mouth), some are airborne and pass through by just breathing in. An air humidifier helps filter and improve air quality, so if you’re using one of these, your chances of getting sick decrease. If you add to this the physical affects an air humidifier allows (erasing dry, itchy skin, static, and chapped, cracked lips), you’ll notice you’ll also feel better and healthier, which means your immune system won’t have to work so hard to keep your body moisturized and can instead work to fight off any incoming illnesses.

Today, I’ve made a short list of the different types of room humidifiers which can help you out this winter. I’ve separated them into two different categories: Price and Size.
